We are hiring certified lifeguards to join our Aquatics Staff team at Splashifax Waterparks, where you can enjoy all of those things, all summer long, and get paid to do it! Splashifax Waterparks offer a safe, silly, and always slippery swimming adventure where adults and kids laugh alike and immerse themselves in the ginormous, impressive span of obstacles. Reporting to the Heads of the Aquatics Staff, Aquatics Staff will be responsible for performing lifeguard and maintenance duties in an outdoor, recreational setting. This will be an opportunity to develop leadership and management skills.

Work Conditions

Splashifax Waterparks are outdoor facilities that are open rain or shine on weekdays, weekends, and holidays. An air-conditioned office will be available for breaks, but otherwise, it is a requirement that you are able to work within variable weather conditions, and be regularly in the water. All Aquatics Staff will be on a rotation that may involve getting into the water frequently throughout the day.

Duties & Responsibilities

Guest Experience

Tasks such as, but not limited to:

  • Provide welcoming customer service by communicating clearly, effectively and efficiently while maintaining professionalism and hospitality
  • Provide wayfinding and answer general questions
  • Demonstrate a friendly attitude while interacting with guests, vendors, and fellow employees

Safety

Tasks such as, but not limited to:

  • Ensure the safety and supervision of the on-water guests
  • Provide First Aid and fill out Incident Reports
  • Follow COVID-19 protocols and enforce those protocols
  • Watch for altered states (i.e. intoxication), and communicate with supervisors on site to determine next steps

Maintenance

Tasks such as, but not limited to:

  • Maintain cleanliness of on/in-water portion of the park
  • Check, fix, and delegate air pressure, connections, and repairs to park
  • Lifejacket repairs, maintenance, and disposal
  • Completion of task checklists
  • Completion of inventory checklists (i.e. First Aid inventory)
  • Observe all health and safety protocols including COVID-19 protocols as required
  • Support water testing as needed
  • General cleaning duties, including picking up on-land and in-water litter, and keeping the general public space clean, safe, and sanitized

Qualifications

  • Prior Lifeguard experience considered an asset
  • Ability to act quickly and calmly in emergency situations
  • Strong communication skills and prior customer service experience
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Satisfactory Background Check (must be within 30 days before hire date, if you don’t have one, we will provide access to successful applicants)

Wage starting at $16/hr

All our lifeguards are required to have National Lifesaving – Waterfront Certification! However, we want applicants who have Bronze Cross and National Lifesaving – Pool Certification to join our team too! We will pay you to up your certification.

Splashifax Waterparks offer a safe, silly, and always slippery swimming adventure where adults and kids laugh alike and immerse themselves in the ginormous, impressive span of obstacles. Reporting to your Supervisors (who will support you in your growth and development of customer service skills), you will have the opportunity to build communication and interpersonal skills while liaising with the public and being the face of the operations for Splashifax.

Duties & Responsibilities

Guest Experience

Tasks such as, but not limited to:

  • Provide welcoming, exceptional, effective and efficient customer service and hospitality to our customers
  • Manage cash, debit and credit transactions when necessary to complete check-in and monitor the number of customers within our facility to ensure compliance with entry requirements
  • Demonstrate a friendly attitude while interacting with customers, vendors, and staff
  • Complete all steps of guest Check-In and Safety Orientation

Safety

Tasks such as, but not limited to:

  • Ensure the safety and supervision of on-land customers
  • Support and provide First Aid for those in the waterpark as needed and fill out Incident Reports
  • Observe all health and safety protocols including COVID-19 protocols as required
  • Watch for altered states (i.e. intoxication) and alert management

Maintenance

Tasks such as, but not limited to:

  • Janitorial duties such as recycling and refuse disposal, consistent sanitization of high-touch areas, washrooms, picking up customer-left refuse to keep on-land area (and therefore also water) clean and clear of debris, etc.
  • Completion of task checklists
  • Assist Supervisors, General Manager, and Facility Manager in maintenance tasks of the park
  • Inventory lists (First Aid, bracelets, socks, Lost & Found)
  • Lifejacket repairs, maintenance, and disposal

Qualifications

  • Prior customer service experience would be considered an asset
  • Excellent and effective communication skills both in speaking and writing
  • Demonstrates initiative and a willingness to learn
  • Ability to perform tasks quickly and efficiently
  • Ability to swim
  • Valid CPR training (may be provided for successful applicants)
  • Satisfactory Background Check (must be within 30 days before hire date, if you don’t have one, we will provide access to successful applicants)

Reporting to the General Manager, you will work closely with them to communicate organizational needs, and guide and oversee employees’ performance.

Work Conditions

An air-conditioned office will be available for breaks, but otherwise, it is a requirement that you are able to work within variable weather conditions and be regularly in the water. Splashifax Waterparks offer a safe, silly, and always slippery swimming adventure where adults and kids laugh alike and immerse themselves in the ginormous, impressive span of obstacles. Reporting to the General Manager you will work closely with them to communicate organizational needs, and guide and oversee employees’ performance. Outside of these times, Supervisors assume a Lead Customer Service Representative role taking on the duties outlined in that role and providing leadership to other Customer Service Representatives.

Splashifax is seeking Night Facility Coordinators to join our team. This position would start mid July and continue until mid September, 2022. Shifts will be approximately 12 hours overnight and successful applicants will have the ability to negotiate a flexible schedule throughout the summer.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Equipment and Facility Manager, Night Facility Coordinators will be responsible for:

  • Overnight security of the Splashifax site
  • Janitorial services including cleaning, garbage and recycling management
  • Garbage removal from shoreline
  • Light site maintenance
  • Check, fix, and delegate air pressure, connections, and repairs to park
  • Life jacket repairs, maintenance, and disposal
  • Water testing

Requirements:

  • Satisfactory police clearance (must be within 30 days of hire date)
  • Have weekend, holiday, and evening availability
  • Be able to work outside in the summer
