RECOGNITION OF TRADITIONAL TERRITORY
HONOURING THE LAND

Splashifax acknowledges that we are in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People. This territory is covered by the “Treaties of Peace and Friendship” which Mi’kmaq and Wolastoqiyik (Maliseet) People first signed with the British Crown in 1725. We want to acknowledge and honour how they have nurtured, and continue to nurture, the land through their culture and presence. We endeavour to be good stewards of the lands and waters on which we work and to be in good relationship with the peoples who came before us, who are with us, and will come after us.

GRIP SOCKS

$5

We recommend these items:

  • Swimwear that covers your bottom and thighs – note that Little Lake’s water is brown and may stain light coloured swimwear
  • Water shoes (not black-soled) or grip socks – grip socks are also available for purchase online and on site
  • Towel
  • Sunscreen (marine-friendly)
  • Insect Repellant
  • Water bottle
  • Bathing suit (It is best if you arrive with it on)
  • Hat & Sunglasses (for when you’re not on the water)
  • Picnic Supplies (suggested)
  • We do not recommend bringing goggles. The water is quite dark and the waterpark is quite challenging – goggles may get lost or cause injury.

Here’s a step-by-step list of what to do when you arrive, so that you can have a stress-free check-in process for one of the most exciting experiences you’ll have in your life!

  1. You’ve followed the signs in the parking lot and down the Unicorn Trail and you’ve arrived, welcome! Please wait for one of our friendly employees to call you and your group over to get you checked-in.
  2. Our employees will ask your name, check that your waivers are signed, check you in, and place bracelets on your wrist that represent the timeslot you are in.
  3. You will now be directed to our sock-bin where an employee will give you a pair of grip socks based on your size.
  4. After your socks have been given to you, please move along to the life jackets station! Our knowledgeable employees will get you a life jacket that best fits you.
  5. This is the point when you find somewhere to put your things. We will have picnic tables to claim, but we don’t have supervised or secured space for your items; we suggest leaving valuables in your vehicle.
  6. This is the time to remove your jewellery and valuable items you wouldn’t normally think to take off. Sharp jewellery such as rings can puncture our inflatables and expensive items such as watches (yes, even the waterproof ones!) can be damaged and/or lost. Neither you or us can retrieve these items if they fall into the water.
  7. Once you are swim-ready with your socks and life jacket on, make your way to the employee with a megaphone. They will give your session the Safety Orientation. Please listen carefully as they tell you how to safely navigate the park.
  8. Now please proceed to the employees standing closest to the water; they will be checking the fit of your lifejacket, bracelet colour, jewellery, and socks.
  9. Once they give you the go-ahead, head out on to the dock, jump in, and swim out to the park!
  10. Have FUN!
