Splashifax is seeking part-time Lifeguards to start early to mid-June through end dates that will range from late August to late September – depending on your availability and weather.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Reporting to the General Manager, Lifeguards will be responsible for performing lifeguard duties in an outdoor, recreational setting. This will be an opportunity to grow leadership and management.

Duties

  • Ensure the safety and supervision of the outdoor, floating playground and obstacle park and occupants
  • Provide customer service by maintaining professional interactions with children and youth, parents, families
  • Ensure the cleanliness and safety of entrances and exits to the playground and obstacle park, as well as the playground equipment
  • General cleaning duties, including keeping the front-of-house area clean and sanitized and perform regular sanitizing of all public spaces as per COVID-19 guidelines
  • Observe all health and safety protocols including COVID-19 protocols as required
  • Support lake water testing as needed
  • Friendly attitude and ability to interact with our customers, vendors, staff

COVID-19 Considerations

Small cohorts, indoor masks required, physical distance between cohorts, outdoors most of the time, sanitizing, disinfecting, or cleaning procedures

Requirements

  • Satisfactory police clearance (must be within 30 days of hire date)
  • Valid First Aid and CPR training
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as per training, task and health requirements
  • National Lifeguard (NL)
  • Ability to act quickly and calmly in emergency situations.
  • Strong communication and prior customer service experience
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Have weekend, holiday, and evening availability
  • Be able to work outside in the summer

Compensation

Minimum $15.00/hour with an assumption of an average of 30 hours/week

Splashifax is seeking part-time Customer Service Agent to start early to mid-June through end dates that will range from late August to late September – depending on your availability and weather.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

As a Customer Service Agent, you will have the opportunity to build communication and interpersonal skills while liaising with the public and being the face of the operations for our brand new recreational, outdoor, floating playground and obstacle park in First Lake, Halifax. You will report to our General Manager, who will support you in your growth and development of customer service skills.

Duties

  • Provide exceptional customer service and hospitality to our customers
  • Assist with keeping the front area clear
  • Manage cash, debit and credit transactions and monitor the number of customers within our facility to ensure compliance with entry requirements
  • General cleaning duties, including keeping the front-of-house area clean and sanitized and perform regular sanitizing of all public spaces as per COVID-19 guidelines
  • Assist the Facility Manager in daily tasks and projects
  • Observe all health and safety protocols including COVID-19 protocols as required
  • Friendly attitude and ability to interact with our customers, vendors, staff

  • Willingness to learn and demonstrate initiative
  • Valid First Aid and CPR training (may be provided for successful applicants)

  • Prior customer service experience would be great
  • Have the ability to perform tasks efficiently and quickly

  • While not a requirement, we are also seeking individuals who have Food Handler certification. If you do, please indicate so on your application.

Splashifax is seeking part-time Night Facility Coordinators to start May 31 until late September, 2021 – shifts will be 10 PM – dawn, 7 days a week. This will be a two person team and successful applicants will have the ability to negotiate a flexible schedule throughout the summer.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Facility Manager, Night Facility Coordinators will be responsible for:

  • Overnight security of the Splashifax site
  • Janitorial services including cleaning, garbage and recycling management
  • Garbage removal from shoreline
  • Light site maintenance
